MSTPA Post Conference Message from Mike Tudor, CAPP, CPP
Savannah, Georgia provided the backdrop for a warm, southern-hospitality kinda feeling to this year’s annual Mid-South Transportation & Parking Association (MSTPA) conference. But it was the people that made it come to life. There were three (3) fun filled days of education, exhibits, and good southern food. (I had never had shrimp and grits before. It is now a must have anytime I return to Savannah.)
During our luncheon this year, we took time to present awards and honor achievements. For our golf outing we presented awards for closest hole and the winning foursome. This event gave us the opportunity to raise money ($1,000) in support of the local AMBUCS organization which is dedicated to “Inspiring Mobility & Independence” for those with disabilities. We also took a few minutes to honor past Parking & Transportation Association of Georgia (PTAG) presidents (Becky Smith, David Santa Ana and Diane Hale) for their contributions to the association over the years as it closed out its final chapter and became part of MSTPA.
The vendor floor opened with a lot of excitement. It was buzzing with the sound of connections being made. At the casino night we had some big winners and some losers too. But most of all, I believe everyone came away feeling as if they had won by attending the conference.
With a record 234 attendees and 40 exhibit booths, MSTPA hit the mark big this year, proving that you can come together like old friends, have a good time, learn a few tidbits and go home reignited with ambition for the roles we each play in the parking industry.
Thank you everyone for such a great conference. See ya next year in Chattanooga, if not sooner!
Keeping the Main Thing, the Main Thing!
