 I am proud to say our annual conference in Nashville, TN, was a huge success!  I personally walked away from the conference with a greater appreciation of the power of connections.  Amazing things happen when a group of like minded folks set out to achieve a common goal.  Such collaborations have led to the revitalization of entire cities (such as Chattanooga, TN), the successful launch of new combined transit systems (such as the system started just two years ago in Oxford, MS, with the help of Ole Miss), and creating an accessible environment for disabled residents and visitors of Nashville, TN.  Great things happen when a common goal is identified, the right connections are made, the right resources are available, and healthy doses of patience and perseverance are present.

 I’m happy to say the 2012 conference provided plenty of networking opportunities to make connections.  Attendance was strong and featured a blend of new and returning faces.  Everyone had a great time!

 With the conference came a transition in the membership of the Board of Directors.  Chrissie Tune, our long-time Secretary, is moving on.  Her dedication, quality work, and enthusiasm will be missed!  I am pleased to announce that Sam Veraldi, director of Parking and Transportation at Duke University, has joined the Board.  To learn more about Sam, or our other directors, visit our “Board of Directors” tab.  The officers of the Board of Directors are Jennifer Tougas, President; Don Thornton, Past President; Ronnie Robertson, Vice-President; Liz Zimmer, Treasurer; and Gary Graham, Secretary.
